Sparkling beaches, charming baroque architecture, and some of Italy’s best cuisine – there’s nothing like getting married in Puglia! This inviting region in Southern Italy is ideal for couples seeking romance, adventure, and beaches, but with so many fantastic venue options in the area, I know it can be hard to narrow down your choices. So, here is my guide to choosing the best wedding venue in Puglia for your celebrations!

Puglia is a lesser-visited region of Italy, drenched in sunshine, and packed with plenty of fun activities to enjoy, like winery visits and World Heritage sites. Your destination wedding in Puglia will be vibrant, romantic, and so elegant, surrounded by rolling hills, turquoise beaches, and ancient cobblestoned estates.

What’s Your Dream Wedding Location In Puglia?

Finding the perfect wedding venue in Puglia starts with thinking about your location. Puglia is a vast geographical area (you can think of it as the heel of Italy’s ‘boot’) with a range of areas to consider for your wedding, including beaches, small villages, the larger cities of Bari and Taranto, or quiet country farmlands.

So, how do I choose my dream wedding venue in Italy? Before getting married in Puglia, give some thought to where you’d like to say your vows. Do you imagine a beautiful barefoot beach wedding? Or maybe a luxurious estate? Once you decide on the type of wedding you love, it’ll be easier to start looking for individual venues.

Your Wedding Budget

Of course, for many couples, budget will be a big factor. When looking for wedding venues in Puglia, Italy, it helps to work out your total wedding budget first, then allocate how much you’d like to spend on your venue.

While Puglia can be slightly more affordable than areas like the Amalfi Coast, you can also reduce expenses on your wedding venue in Puglia by booking your venue midweek or in the shoulder seasons or by lowering the number of guests you invite.

Consider Which Type Of Wedding Venue In Puglia Best Suits Your Vision

With so many wonderful venue types in Puglia, it helps to know a bit about each option and what types of weddings they would work best for.

One of the most popular types of wedding villas in Puglia are masserias, a gorgeous type of historic farmhouse estate. You can plan a luxury, bohemian, or completely relaxed wedding here – you and your guests will enjoy local wines and olive oil, fresh off the tree produce, and relax in gorgeous, inviting spaces.

As your Puglia wedding photographer, your masseria wedding photography will be bright and airy, romantic, and candid, capturing all of those beautiful little moments of your day, framed by historic stonework, gardens, and rolling hills. Consider a Masseria Muntibianchi or Masseria Ponenti wedding if you’d like to get married in some of Puglia’s finest examples of this type of home!

Another wonderful option for your wedding is a Puglian resort or hotel. Often set on the beachfront, these luxury venues are ideal for destination weddings, as all of your guests can stay in one location. You’ll enjoy premium accommodation, great resort amenities like spas, water sports, and premium restaurants and bars, so they’re ideal for a luxury wedding!

Of course, those are only a few options — you can also find medieval castles, boutique B&Bs, or private apartment rentals, so I love that Puglia offers so many spaces where you curate your dream wedding.

Venue capacity

How many guests are joining you for your destination wedding? The beauty of destination weddings is that they can be whatever you desire, whether that’s a small and intimate celebration with just your nearest and dearest, or a grand gala with hundreds of friends and family.

It helps to know approximately how many people you’ll be inviting, so you can select a venue with adequate capacity. Luckily, many masserias and resorts in Puglia can comfortably host weddings of hundreds or more, but also will have spaces suitable for smaller parties.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed when making a decision, I recommend hiring a local wedding planner. They’ll know all of the local wedding venues well and can assist in suggesting options that will suit your style, budget, and design preferences.

I hope you now have a better understanding of how to choose a wedding venue in Puglia! Savoring romantic sunsets over delicious wine, early morning ocean swims, and quality time with loved ones enjoying Italian cuisine – I just know you’ll love your Puglia wedding, no matter which venue you select.
